  I have never been more conflicted about an experience maybe ever. The whole staff here was extremely nice. Especially the lady who cleaned my teeth. So sweet, and friendly, and overall just awesome. That lady gets 5 Stars. However, the sales tactics were EXTREMELY unethical. When I got to the office to discuss the cost of what needed done, the sales woman showed me two amounts: the total cost before insurance, and the amount I'd pay after insurance. I know my levels of coverage, and instantly the numbers didn't add up. I asked to see an itemized list of charges/expenses. She told me the system wouldn't allow her to do that, but she would break it down manually for me. So she got out a tiny business card and vaguely broke the charges into what the cleaning would be and what the fillings would be. The cleaning was almost as much as the fillings, and something seemed off. So I started to back out, saying I'd have to go home and crunch the numbers. Then she quickly suggests "Well, we can remove the take-home products." What take-home products? Turns out they hid a $130 electric toothbrush NOT covered by insurance in the cost of the cleaning. After they took that off and I paid (like the sucker I am)... suddenly, lo and behold what prints out? Oh look at that, an itemized list of all the individual charges! Funny how "the system can't do that" before you pay but it can after. They don't want you to see they've conveniently bundled stuff in there without your knowledge. The whole experience was like buying a used car. I left not being able to shake the feeling that what I just went through was a little scam-ish. To make sure I wasn't crazy, when I got home I did some Googling and discovered this is part of the Aspen business model. Just search around for yourself and you'll find the same "they snuck in an expensive toothbrush" or other shady billing practice stories time and time again.
